Paul Burrows
Chairperson
Resident Renter
I am the former owner of Rob Paul Studios in Havant, where I loved capturing precious memories and creating beautiful images. After a long struggle with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, I retired to focus on my health and wellbeing. My wife Jackie and I waited seven years for our rented beach hut, only to face steep fee increases. Our beach hut provides a peaceful place where we can relax, recover, and I can also recharge my batteries.
Colin Falla
Vice Chairperson
Resident Owner
I grew up in Guernsey and met my wife Claire while studying on the South Coast. We now live in Emsworth with our daughter, and I run a property development and construction business working locally and in the Channel Islands. Owning a beach hut was always Claire’s dream, and in 2023 we found our little haven by the sea. We’ve loved becoming part of such a welcoming hutting community, and through my committee experience I value community spirit and look forward to representing it in the future.

Resident Owner
I have been a Hayling Island resident for 61 years and have owned my beach hut, SeaGal’s Nest, for the past eight. A retired Licensed Conveyancer and mature OU Psychology student, I discovered the concept of biophilia — our love of nature. Time at my beach hut supports my wellbeing, and I am committed to helping others enjoy theirs while supporting Hayling Island alongside a dedicated committee

Joint Secretary
Non Resident Owner
I have lived in Surrey all my life and currently serve as your Non-Resident committee member. In 2022, I purchased a holiday home on Hayling Island, followed by a beach hut the following year. These investments allow me to spend more time on the island, fully enjoy its community and coastline, and attend most committee meetings in person, ensuring active involvement and consistent contribution to our work.

Committee Member
Resident Owner
We moved to Hayling Island twenty eight years ago craving the fresh air that living near a beach offers. In recent years I’ve gone part time in order to follow my dreams and indulge myself in my many passions. We purchased our beach hut fifteen years ago to give our children a base when enjoying the sea. We were originally located on West Beach but inevitably we had to move. The children are now adults. Those once dependent toddlers are still our children, but now they are also our friends but, more importantly, the next generation of custodians of our coastline.

Our mission: supporting Hayling's beach hut community

Our commitment is to foster a strong, united voice for all beach hut owners and renters, ensuring a positive future for our beloved huts. Do you have a suggestion to help us grow or a comment to make?
